TRADE BOOK SERVICES
Trade Book Submission Form
If you have a manuscript, 32 pages and up, we can help you become your own publisher. KPS can publish your Trade book within 30 days. We have four services available. Black and White interior images can be included in all services. (Interior color images are only available in our picture book service) If you need editing you can use our copyediting service.
Service #1: $40
Special for students under 18.*
You must have:
Your manuscript formatted in Microsoft word or similar work processing program.
Your formatted front and back cover (which can be in color) must be submitted in a separate PNG digital file.
When your book is ready you will receive an Author Review PDF. Once you’re happy with your PDF you can order your book. (see Binding Options and Book Cost section).
*Submission must be accompanied by a student ID that matches the name on the submission form.
Service #2: $75
You must have:
Your manuscript formatted in Microsoft word or similar word processing program.
Your formatted front and back cover (which can be in color) must be submitted in a separate PNG digital file.
When your book is ready:
You will receive an Author Review PDF. Once you’re happy with your PDF you can order your book.
Service #3: $199 Special for students under 18.* $99
If you have a manuscript, 32 pages and up, and do not have your own ready made formatted front and back cover, we will work with you to design a basic cover. *If you want a more elaborate cover, ie: specalized graphics, unique colors, etc... you can choose our add on service for $75.00.
You must have:
Your manuscript formatted in Microsoft word or a similar word processing program. (If you are including black and white images in your book do not inset them into the text file.)
Send all interior images as digital files, please include placement instructions, all images should be at a least a 300dpi jpg, png, or tiff. If you have high quality photographs that are not digital you can submit them for scanning for placement into your book.
You can submit an Author Photo and/or cover images for your front and back cover. Include any cover design ideas you may have. ie: colors, image placement, type style, etc.
We will work with you to design your interior templates. Here are two examples.
 Chapter drop: 1/3 page

Folio: Top/Outside
Capitalization: None
Drop/Raise cap: None
Font: Garamond (11 pt.)

When your book is ready:
You will receive an Author Review PDF. Once you’re happy with your PDF you will recieve One trade paperback Author Review copy. Any changes after this stage will result in an extra fee.
Post production features:
Your book available in our on-line bookstore.

- The ability to take your books into the local bookstore for them to sell
NOTE: An ISBN only makes your book accessible to retail booksellers. Your book will not be listed as "current inventory" in retail bookstores. See FAQ for more information.

Copyediting Service:
The cost of the Copyediting Service varies according to your manuscript's length. The per-word charges are as follows:
- Manuscripts with 60,000 words or less, KPS charges $.012 per word for copyediting.
- Manuscripts with 60,001 to 120,000 words are charged a discounted per word rate of $.011.
- Manuscripts with 120,001 words or more are charged just $.01 per word!
Calculating the total cost to you is easy. Simply multiple your manuscript's word count by the per word charge. For example:
124,000 (Total word count) x $0.01 (Per word charge) = $1240 (Total cost of Copyediting Service)
OR
72,000 (Total word count) x $0.011 (Per word charge) = $792 (Total cost of Copyediting Service)
OR
33,000 (Total word count) x $0.012 (Per word charge) = $396 (Total cost of Copyediting Service)
